SWING TABLE

CHAIR THE MEETING

http://designoftheworld.com/page/4/

For designer Chris Duffy, the idea’s the thing.  Seeing no reason to stop playing because we grow old (thanks for that, George Bernard Shaw), this eponymous London-based design house created the Swing Table – a gracefully structural way of jazzing-up everything from meetings to mealtimes. Inspired by emerging production methods,Duffy London creates interior pieces to eco-sound standards for the most pragmatic of
motivations – using local manufacturers, recycled packaging and energy-efficient lighting for reasons of low-cost, speed and straightforward communication. The Swing Table is produced using steel and walnut from Stewardship Council managed forests, and is intended to function as something of a room within a room. Mostly though, it’s just a fun way to pass the times you have to sit down. Impromptu meeting, anyone?
